Pot Throwing | Morning Half Day

Service Description

The half day course is suitable for beginners and those who have tried pottery in the past. During the 3 hours you will learn the basic techniques of throwing- centring, coning, opening, lifting and thinning the clay wall to make taller pots. You will be shown how to use a variety of tools including ribs to help shape and to finish your work before removing the pot safely from the wheel. By the end of the class, it is anticipated that you will have completed several pieces. Your most successful pots will be fired which you are invited back to glaze and decorate from a choice of colours and then fired again. Your pots are usually ready to pick up within two months, varying on conditions. Arrangements will be made via email. Class size is limited to 6 people, each with a dedicated potters' wheel. Price includes all materials, glazes, and firings. We do provide aprons, but you are welcome to bring your own. Please wear appropriate clothing and remove any hand/wrist jewellery as it is messy. Please bring your own refreshments.
