Family Pottery Course | Half day

Service Description

This 3-hour course is designed for children and adults to work together. During the workshop you will use a variety of hand modelling techniques to create a creature from clay and have a go on the pottery wheel. Techniques by hand will include rolling, joining, blending, shaping, thumb pot making and coiling. During the throwing session on the wheel, you be shown how to centre the clay, open it and make it taller. Help will be provided to remove it from the wheel head. By the end of the class, it is hoped that you will have completed at least one piece of work from each technique although it is likely that you may produce more from the wheel. Your pots will be fired which you are invited back to glaze and decorate from a choice of colours and then fired again. Your pots are usually ready to pick up within two months, varying on conditions. Arrangements will be made via email. Max Class size is 6 people, different generations are all welcome. Price includes all materials, glazes, and firings. We do provide aprons, but you are welcome to bring your own. Please wear appropriate clothing and remove any hand/wrist jewellery as it is messy. Please bring your own refreshments. Once you have booked you will be invoiced for the correct amount. One adult and child is £95, 1 adult and 2 children is £130, 2 adults and 1 child is £160, 2 adults and 2 children is £180, 2 adults and 3 children is £210, 3 adults and 3 children is £260
